Introduction to Complex Numbers:

We will be transforming complex expressions into the standard form a + bi using the i-cycle. Perform addition and subtraction operations with complex numbers using our knowledge of polynomial operations. Lastly, we will master multiplication of complex numbers, both with and without variables.

1. The i-Cycle:

   • Utilizing the cyclical nature of i to simplify powers of i.

   • Applying the i-cycle to rewrite expressions in a+bi form.

2. Addition and Subtraction of Complex Numbers:

   • Combining real and imaginary parts to add or subtract complex numbers.

   • Practical examples to reinforce the concepts.

3. Multiplication of Complex Numbers:

   • Applying the distributive property to multiply complex numbers.

   • Simplifying results to standard form a+bi

   • Exploring multiplication involving variables.
