Add and Subtract Complex Numbers: Perform addition and subtraction operations with complex numbers seamlessly.
Multiply Complex Numbers: Master multiplication of complex numbers, both with and without variables.
Introduction to Complex Numbers:
We will be transforming complex expressions into the standard form a + bi using the i-cycle. Perform addition and subtraction operations with complex numbers using our knowledge of polynomial operations. Lastly, we will master multiplication of complex numbers, both with and without variables.
The i-Cycle:
Utilizing the cyclical nature of i to simplify powers of i.
Applying the i-cycle to rewrite expressions in a+bi form.
Addition and Subtraction of Complex Numbers:
Combining real and imaginary parts to add or subtract complex numbers.
Practical examples to reinforce the concepts.
Multiplication of Complex Numbers:
Applying the distributive property to multiply complex numbers.
Simplifying results to standard form a+bi
Exploring multiplication involving variables.
